Dog Training & Boarding

About
Built on Experience Designed for Real Life
At Patron K9 Academy, dog training isn’t something we stumbled into. It’s something built over time through experience, consistency, and hands-on work with dogs in real-life environments.
Angel began working with dogs in 2015 and established Patron K9 Academy in 2019. Since then, we’ve worked with dogs across a wide range of temperaments and behaviors, shaping a training approach that prioritizes clarity, structure, and results that hold up outside of a training session.
We don’t just teach dogs to follow commands. We focus on creating dogs that can confidently exist in your home, around distractions, and out in public, without constant management or guesswork.

What We Believe
Training should make your life easier, not more complicated.
We focus on clear communication, consistent expectations, and building behavior that carries over into everyday life, not just structured sessions.
Our Environment
We are a residential-based program, not a high-volume facility.
Dogs live in our home, not in a warehouse or kennel setting. This allows us to keep a small number of dogs at a time, give each one the attention they need, and train in a setting that actually reflects how dogs live day to day.
As a husband-and-wife team, our work is part of our daily lives. Dogs are exposed to a real household environment and learn how to remain calm around everyday activity, including appropriate, structured exposure to children when it supports their progress.
Your dog isn’t just learning commands. They’re learning how to exist in a home.
Our Work Beyond Client Dogs
In addition to working with client dogs, we regularly take on foster dogs, helping them build the structure, confidence, and skills needed to successfully transition into permanent homes.
From behavioral challenges to foundational obedience, this work allows us to give dogs a second chance and set them up for long-term success in the right home.

Ongoing Education
We regularly attend workshops and seminars to continue refining our approach, including learning from respected trainers such as Michael Ellis, Tobias Gustavsson and Oscar Mora. We also stay current with evolving best practices, allowing us to deliver effective, practical training to our clients.
Goal
Our goal is simple. To give you a dog you can trust in real life, and the clarity to keep it that way.
